Tomorrow, on January 9, 2012 we will start our journey of four months through China, where we spent almost a year since 2007.
A sentence from novel The New life of Ohran Pamuk caught our attention and inspired us for a new photo essay.
“Hello old bus stations, cranky coaches, hello melancholic travelers!”
The project revolves around the theme of transit, time passing by and hope and resignation. Our eyes will focus on the different attitudes of the travelers in the cold, the atmospheres emerging from these places and the passing landscapes. We would like to give you an intimate insight at the ever-changing China.
Leaving Beijing by public bus, we expect to reach Kashgar, a town in the far west of the country. The provinces of Inner Mongolia, Gansu and Xinjiang will serve as the backdrop for our story. We will work in color with Rolleiflex medium format cameras and digital SLR cameras.
We hope that this project will catch your interest!
The opening of the exhibition is scheduled on 20.12.2012 at the café-gallery “L’Ancienne Gare” in Fribourg Switzerland.
Book this venue !!!
Route-map, roughly 7000 km by bus…

We would like to thank our generous sponsors who are supporting this project!
